Sister Maryann Dosen’s “Beat the Nun” contest helps raise $150,000 for programs and services

Sister Maryann Dosen, with her remarkable God-given golfing skills, played a pivotal role in raising $150,000 for developmentally disabled children and adults at St. Coletta's 35th Annual Kennedy Golf Invitational, held on August 19 at the Crystal Tree Golf & Country Club in Orland Park.

Dozens of golfers eagerly participated in the "Beat the Nun" challenge, paying $25 for the chance to outdrive Sister Maryann. While some emerged victorious, many others found themselves bested by the seasoned golfer. Those who succeeded proudly received an "I Beat the Nun" golf tag as a token of their triumph.

"We're incredibly grateful for Sister Maryann's spirited participation," said St. Coletta’s of Illinois CEO Heather Benedick. "Her presence added a unique and joyful energy to the day, making this year's invitational truly memorable."

Funds raised during the event will go toward supporting St. Coletta’s mission of providing essential services and programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.
